Back To School: Studying Tips

Now that school's actually coming closer and closer the excitement is kind of wearing off and, honestly, I really don't want to study >_< But. I cannot wait to get all crazy organized again! In this post I will be sharing some tips and tricks that some of you (I hope) may find helpful when it comes to studying :)

1. DO NOT PROCRASTINATE. I know, this is such a hard one. And don't tell me you're not a procrastinator, because I know you are. We all are. We all log onto Facebook instead of opening our textbooks and studying, and then a week later you essay is due and you haven't even started working on it. Procrastination is a big no-no, and if you learn to overcome it you will earn MAJOR brownie points. What I do to help avoid procrastination is this: first, study for 30 minutes, then let yourself do something else for 10 minutes, and continue studying from where you left off. Repeat the cycle 'till you go insane from all the schoolwork ;)

2. Enjoy being organized. Of course you won't want to stay organized with all those ugly grey binders you use for classes! To help make studying and organizing more fun and enjoyable - use colorful school supplies, decorate your notebooks and binders, and have fun doing it! Also, writing your notes down in fun colors makes them more fun to look over! Just make sure you're not handing them in beforehand ;)

3. Plan in out. I cannot stress enough on how helpful planners are! Some schools provide planners (mine does, but I still use my own), some don't - but that doesn't mean you can't stay organized! Planners are essential for keeping track of your assignments and events that are happening! And, they're some insanely cute ones you can find! Helps being organized more fun ;)

4. Light a candle. Make studying more enjoyable. Whether it's playing some music in the background, lighting a nice-smelling candle, or munching on some peanut butter and apples - find a way for yourself to love studying.

5. Cut yourself some slack. If you got an A on your final project for Chemistry you can either forget all about it and carry on or reward yourself. The reward doesn't have to be a $500 pair of boots - small things count too! Go out and have a nice dinner with your best friend or take a relaxing hot bath - you choose! When you reward yourself after reaching some goal, you actually have something to look forward too after all those hours of studying!

6. Prioritize. Sometimes you've got to choose between catching up on Pretty Little Liars or taking that extra bit of time to do school work. And if you make the wrong choice it will affect you later on, in one way or another. Finish the school work first - you can always watch PLL later! Because in the end, do TV shows count on your college application. No.
